🛠️ Step By Step: How to Get Rid of Pantry Moths and Weevils
1. Empty the Pantry Completely
2. Check Every Packet
including unopened ones. Look for webbing, small cream caterpillars, clumped flour and small beetles. Flour, cereal, rice, nuts, dried fruit, bird seed and pet food are the usual sources.
3. Put Anything Affected in a Sealed Bag in the Outside Bin
4. Vacuum the Shelves
including corners, cracks and shelf-peg holes, where the cocoons hide.
5. Wipe the Shelves Down
and let them dry.
6. Store Dry Food in Airtight Glass or Hard Plastic Containers
Caterpillars chew through plastic bags and cardboard.
7. Put Up a Pantry Moth Trap
It catches the adult males and shows whether they are still around.
